Baking Soda Homemade Kitchen Cleaner Recipe

  • 2 cups baking soda
  • ½ cup liquid dish soap homemade or low-tox
  • ¼ cup rubbing alcohol or vodka
  • 2 - 3 drops your favorite essential oils for fragrance, or to harness their natural disinfecting powers (optional)

  • Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl, or in a similar container.
  • Stir thoroughly to combine. The mixture should resemble a paste that is easy to spread but is not runny.
  • If the paste is too runny, add a few pinches more of the baking soda. If the paste is too dry, add ¼ of a teaspoon more of the rubbing alcohol or vodka.
  • To use, scoop a small amount onto the kitchen area or appliance to be cleaned, and rub vigorously around with a cloth or sponge to scour.
  • If any residue from the scrub remains after scouring, lightly wipe the space with a clean rag only dampened with distilled white vinegar.
