Monday’s Homestead Barn Hop #11

Hey guys!! I’m so glad you could join me, Jill, Amy, and Megan for another fun-filled Homestead Barn Hop! It has been so inspiring visiting everyone’s homesteads and seeing what you’ve all been up to! Keep the great ideas coming!

Yes, I’m late posting this today. I have so much to do before this baby comes, I’m feeling terribly overwhelmed at the moment. There is still so much to get planted, and stuff to be cared for in the garden, not to mention the house is a total disaster and I have zero freezer meals prepared.

I got up early this morning before the kids woke up, and went straight outside to start planting while it was still cool. Jerry was a sweetie and made breakfast for me and the kids while I worked. Once the kids were up and we’d all eaten, it was back outside for us all. I’ve been on my hands and knees planting, weeding, and mulching for most of the day, save for breaks to eat and do other chores that couldn’t wait (like milking the goats and hanging the laundry out to dry). It’s supposed to rain tomorrow so I really wanna get this all done.

I’ve got dinner on the stove ready to eat in a minute, then it’s back outside to finish up planting the rosemary, and weeding and mulching as much as I am able to before it gets dark.

Please Lord, let my efforts pay off!!

So, I must be going again. Thanks for bearing with me as I lag on posting!

What have you been up to lately? Link up below and share the progress you’ve been making on your homestead!

  1. Hi Kendra,
You are so busy!!!:)Your baby is not going to mind if everything is not perfect in the house before he or she arrives but I know the feeling.I always want everything ready and clean before baby too. When my last baby was born I had not frozen a single meal!We all survived.Although, since number seven we buy paper plates….alot of them.Watching my husband do dishes is rough and I usually prefer to just get up and do them myself. He is sweet to try but it takes him ALL day!!!Poor guy.:)
As for milking goats, hanging laundry and gardening…I am wondering if your baby will come fast and without alot of warning as mine do when I am super busy.My midwife always said that my squatting behind a goat while milking helped with that!!Two of ours DID not wait for the midwife so make sure you have your What to do If Baby Comes Before Midwife paper ready.:)My hubby was literally reaching for it with the first one he caught. The good thing about fast births is usually all is going well.:)We are so excited and praying for you!!Take Care!!~Nikki

    • Thank you Nikki!! I definitely do need to get a paper ready to tell us what to do if baby comes too quickly. My midwife is out of town for the next week, and I don’t really wanna have this baby unassisted if I can help it!! Thank you for your prayers, I truly appreciate each word lifted up on my behalf!!
