How To Freeze Green Onions

green-onions-mediumDid you know that you can extend the life of green onions by chopping and freezing them? Just make sure they are thoroughly dry, then chop and put in a plastic container to freeze. Spoon out as much as you need when you are ready to use them. (Best for use in cooked meals, as they get soggy after freezing.)

Chopping hint: I like to use a clean pair of scissors to cut up the onions into little pieces. It’s much easier than cutting with a knife!

Biggie over at Lunch In A Box has a great tip for freezing your green onions in a plastic water bottle for easy dispensing! Check out her post if you get a chance.
