This is the recipe for French Toast that I always use. Comes out perfectly every time, and can be used with just about any type of bread. It’s especially delicious with Cinnamon Swirl Bread!
Deliciously Simple French Toast
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/8 tsp cinnamon
- 5-6 pieces of bread, about 1″ thick
Heat a skillet over medium heat. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the bread to the mixture, one piece at a time, allowing it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side. Put a little bit of butter into the hot skillet, then place the soaked bread into the pan to fry until brown; flip to brown the other side. Repeat for each piece of bread.
Sprinkle the French Toast with powdered sugar, and top with maple syrup, if desired.
