Deliciously Easy French Toast

This is the recipe for French Toast that I always use. Comes out perfectly every time, and can be used with just about any type of bread. It’s especially delicious with Cinnamon Swirl Bread!

Deliciously Simple French Toast

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/8 tsp cinnamon
  • 5-6 pieces of bread, about 1″ thick

Heat a skillet over medium heat. Mix eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the bread to the mixture, one piece at a time, allowing it to soak for about 30 seconds on each side. Put a little bit of butter into the hot skillet, then place the soaked bread into the pan to fry until brown; flip to brown the other side. Repeat for each piece of bread.

Sprinkle the French Toast with powdered sugar, and top with maple syrup, if desired.

SOOO GOOD!!

  1. This IS really good. It’s one of my family’s favorites. A side note, if you buy egg nog for Christmas, they have those special flavored ones as well. Use that as a base, add a couple of eggs and a splash of milk. My family’s favorite Christmas breakfast is Cinnamon swirl or chocolate swirl french toast made with Sugar Cookie egg nog. YUMMO!!!

  2. Yum! I make French toast on Christmas morning every year, served with eggs, bacon, maple syrup, croissants, etc.

I’ve found brioche to make the best French toast. It’s a little bit sweet already, and cooks up beautifully fluffy. I also add a dash of Kahlua (a coffee liqueur) to the French toast mix for a little kick :-).
