No, I haven’t dropped off the face of the earth. I’ve been FILMING!! *Squealing in excitement*
I can hardly believe I actually did it. I’ve been waiting for months for this moment, and now it has already come and gone.
This past Monday and Tuesday I filmed for almost 10 hours each day, cooking and canning and trying to get as much as I could squeezed into the two days that I had my production team. And then today (Thursday) I went into a recording studio and recorded the voice-over for the intro and safety segments of the DVD.
The film is being sponsored by All American Canners, so Joel Andrew, the General Manager of the Consumer Products Division of the Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry (which is the company that makes the All American Canners) flew in for the shoot, and was a huge help. They also hooked me up with some super nice canners for the video!
You guys, I can’t even tell you how blown away I am at how the Lord just brought all of this together. I’ve been praying and praying for a way to bring in a little extra money, and I really believe this might be the answer to that prayer.
I’m so anxious to see the finished product! But to be completely honest, there’s a part of me that is scared as well. I’m so afraid I’m going to hate it. Not because I doubt my editing team, but because I doubt myself. I just have to keep reminding myself that the Father wouldn’t have brought me this far just to make a terrible DVD, you know? I have to trust in the confidence that He has in me, regardless of my own insecurities.
Anyways… I am now free to breathe a sigh of relief that the hard part on my end is over. I’ve already seen what the cover of the DVD will look like, and I’m SO happy with how it looks!
I feel so blessed to be surrounded with such supportive friends and family. I couldn’t have done any of this without them. Especially my husband, who took off of work for two days to watch the kiddos and cook and clean, while I worked. Love that man.
It’ll be several more weeks of editing before I have a finished copy in my hands. I’ll be sure to keep you updated!
