Healthy Breakfast Banana Split
At least once a week I make a breakfast banana split for the kids and myself. My husband could eat eggs and sausage every morning and be a happy man, but the rest of us like to mix it up a bit.
What I love love love about making this dish is that it’s super easy to throw together. It doesn’t require any cooking, and there’s hardly any prep work.
Best of all. It’s healthy.
And the kids devour it.
Here’s how I make my breakfast banana splits… feel free to make it your own by using whatever fruit, nuts, and other toppings you enjoy best!
Breakfast Banana Split
- Bananas, sliced in half lengthwise or chopped
- Yogurt (plain or flavored)
- Granola, or nutty cereal
- Chopped fruit (strawberries, blueberries, etc.)
I like to start by sweetening plain yogurt with honey. Most yogurt has a ton of added sugar; by sweetening it myself I’m able to control the sugar content.
Next I add chopped bananas, strawberries, and blueberries. If blueberries aren’t in season we use frozen ones. Of course, any other fruit that’s in season is fair game!
On top of the fruit I sprinkle a handful of granola and a dash of cinnamon.
And that’s it!
In literally just a few minutes you have a gorgeous breakfast ready to be enjoyed.
Super fast. Super easy. Super delicious.
You can even make it the night before like a parfait in a mason jar. This is especially great if you need something you can grab on your way out the door in the morning.
