I know you’ve all had this… yes, I’m sure every American has had banana pudding! Okay, so I’d never had banana pudding until I moved to the south. Is it a Southern thing? I dunno. But, if you have never had banana pudding, oh my goodness you have to try it! Here is my favorite recipe:
- 4-5 ripe bananas, sliced into bite site pieces
- 8 oz cream cheese
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding mix; prepared as directed
- 1 (14 oz) can Sweetened Condensed Milk (or use substitute)
- 1 box Vanilla Wafers
- 1 large tub Cool Whip
Using a mixer, beat cream cheese until smooth. Mix in condensed milk. Add prepared vanilla pudding and mix well. In a glass bowl or large casserole dish, layer as follows: vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, pudding mix; repeat, ending with the pudding mix on top. Cover and chill. Top with Cool Whip before serving.
This makes a lot, but it goes quick!
